THE PINK HOUSE
INTERIOR VIEW RENDERING WORKFLOW II
Here is another interior view workflow! Similar to the previous tutorial "Mi Casa Es Su Casa" , this workflow will show a mix of a line-drawing, collage and base Rhino rendering for an interior view.
1 | BASE IMAGE
For the base image I kept it very simple, with just some 3D furniture, basic textures and a direct sunlight with nice, soft lighting coming into the space. All other details are added in Photoshop.
2 | Rhino Export
3 | PHOTOSHOP LAYERS
A | Lighting
For the image to have a more 'collage look', I used the levels tool in Photoshop to reduce the overall contrast and bring the brightness up.
Make sure you don't end up overexposing the image too much.
B | TEXTURE
The Rhino base didn't have many textures, so I added and correct some of the colors, as well as the addition of a few more texture details.
C | LANDSCAPE
Have some fun with the landscape! I added a nice little backyard, filled with tropical trees and bright green grass.
You can also play with the tonality of the trees. Adding a couple darker trees will increase the overall contrast and add depth to the image.
D | ENTOURAGE
People will add life to this view! To balance the overall colors, I added a few pink details to the man's shirt and changed the child's pants to pink (originally red).
E | OUTLINE
Adding an outline to the most important objects, will not only highlight some Architectural features, but will also give a less realistic feel to the image.
The lines were drawn in illustrator and imported to Photoshop as a vector file.
F | Interior details
It is always good to add more details to the image if you feel like it'll help tell the story. Make sure all the elements you add are at the right scale and will help the overall color composition.
G | FINAL ADJUSTMENTS
Lighting, color, contrast, levels... make sure it's all balanced!
For an image like this, creating a good Rhino base will help with scale and add a nice soft interior lighting. There are many websites where you can download free 3D interior furniture for Rhino! Go to our Resources page to find out more.
